Colorado weather: Denver braces for deep-freezing temperatures, snow

Snow and a hard freeze are expected Friday

Winter isn’t quite over in Denver. to spread across the area Friday morning, followed by a hard freeze overnight that could send temperatures plunging to between 18 and 25 degrees, according to the National Weather Service office in Boulder.

Additionally, there will be some travel impacts in the mountains and across the southern foothills, possibly over higher elevations of the Palmer Divide along Interstate 25 Friday afternoon.

The NWS office in Boulder that early-season vegetation, fruit trees, and above-ground sprinkler systems could be damaged.

They recommend bringing any freeze-sensitive plants indoors if possible and draining above-ground sprinkler systems.
