The Democratic contenders for Colorado governor, Michael Bennet and Phil Weiser, will face off Thursday night in a debate sponsored by The Denver Post, and .

Bennet, a U.S. senator since 2009, and Weiser, Colorado’s attorney general since 2019, are competing for the party’s nomination in the June 30 primary.

The one-hour debate is set to begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, and it will be broadcast live on Denver7 and CPR. Check back at 6 p.m. to watch the debate live here.

The event is the first of two gubernatorial debates co-hosted by the media outlets this spring. Next week, on May 14 at 6 p.m., the Republican candidates for governor will debate.

State Sen. Barbara Kirkmeyer and state Rep. Scott Bottoms are confirmed for the GOP debate. The third candidate on the Republican primary ballot, Victor Marx, has declined to participate.
