Chase Dollander, the Rockies’ prized right-hander, was pulled from Thursday’s game in Pittsburgh in the second inning with what the club is calling right arm tightness.

Dollander, tagged for three runs in the first inning, pitched to just two batters in the second. He gave up a leadoff double to Endy Rodríguez, followed by a walk to Jared Triolo on five pitches, before head trainer Keith Dugger and manager Warren Schaeffer met Dollander on the mound. After a lengthy conversation, Dollander threw a practice pitch before leaving the game.

In nine appearances (three starts), the 24-year-old Dollander has a 3.89 ERA. After a rough rookie season in 2025, he’s made strides this season. He is beginning to look like the projected No. 1 starter Colorado envisioned when they selected him in the first round (ninth overall) of the 2023 draft out of the University of Tennessee.
