A Cherry Hills Village mansion that was originally listed for $10 million topped metro Denver’s residential real estate sales in July, closing for $7.1 million.

The six-bedroom, 11-bathroom estate in the 1 block of Village Road sold July 29 after being relisted in February for $8 million.
Sellers Stephen and Susan Rector built the roughly 20,000-square-foot Tuscan-style mansion in 2011 after purchasing the 2-acre property in 2007. Stephen Rector leads private energy company Rim Operating.
The home features exposed wooden beams, stone and brick construction, hand-painted ceilings and a wine cellar with a mural by artist Sheldon James. Custom mantels were crafted from salvaged materials, while the roof is finished with clay tiles imported from Portugal.
Kate Perry of LIV Sotheby’s International Realty represented both the sellers and the buyer, Cassinis Nevada Trust.
