Wildlife bridges and underpasses led to a dramatic decline in animal-related car crashes, according to Mark Lawler, a biologist for Colorado Department of Transportation.

Colorado Preservation Inc. has placed subterranean spaces in many Colorado cities, like this one in Florence, on its 2018 list of most endangered places. The spaces are at risk of being filled in to add square footage to commercial buildings, as has happened to many in Denver's Lower Downtown neighborhood.
