Danielle Morris, an artist, is a senior at Peak to Peak Charter School in Lafayette.

She won first prize in March in the 12th-grade mixed-media category at Rep. Mark Udall’s 2005 U.S. Congressional High School Arts Competition.

One of her murals, “Generosity,” is permanently housed in the lobby of the Sister Carmen Community Center, Lafayette’s food bank.

In April, Danielle received the Service-Learning Excellence Award from Project YES (Youth Envisioning Social change) for promoting service learning in the Lafayette community.

Danielle was the 2005 homecoming queen, a cheerleader for the Colorado High School Activities Association and the recipient of Peak to Peak’s 2004 most optimistic student award.

She has received several academic awards, including the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award in 2004.

She has been on the school’s honor roll since her freshman year and has a 3.9 grade-point average. Danielle is enrolled in Spanish 40 and advanced placement literature, and has taken honors anatomy and physiology.

She will be attending CU-Boulder in the fall.
