Hugh Grant voted off island

The French do not like Hugh Grant, either.

Grant and his girlfriend, Jemima Khan, had hoped to buy a seven-bedroom, $13 million villa on the private island, Ile St Marguerite, in the south of France. But, the Mirror reports, residents do not want the attention the film star would bring to the tiny community off glitzy Cote d’Azur. Only four families live on the island, and his potential new neighbor Elisee Valles told the Mirror: “We’re a small rural community here, and we’re not sure we want to be associated with that kind of thing. The locals are up in arms about it and are worried about him moving in.”

The newspaper reported security was called to their room after a guest complained of noise “sounding like a wounded animal, like something being killed.” The noise stopped and Pitt reportedly told security, “Everything is cool, guys. You can leave. We’re OK.”

Three weeks before the premiere of its third season, production was halted on the Comedy Central hit “Chappelle’s Show.”

Looks like Goldie Hawn falsely accused Star Jones of spreading rumors that the sometime Aspen resident had split with longtime beau Kurt Russell on “The View.”

Hawn insisted Jones was the culprit on the ABC daytime chat show, but Jones strongly denied the accusation. Hawn’s spokesman told the New York Post his client would personally telephone Jones to apologize.
