The women who unsuccessfully sued the University of Colorado are criticizing bills the university submitted to the court, saying the school’s lawyers and witnesses stayed in swanky hotels and had lavish meals.

Lisa Simpson and another woman who prefers not to be named were ordered to pay the university’s costs when a federal judge dismissed their case. CU submitted bills for $124,692.

On Thursday, lawyers for the women, who say they were sexually assaulted by CU football players or recruits, accused university lawyers of flying first-class, putting up an expert witness at the Brown Palace Hotel and asking for reimbursement for an exorbitant number of photocopies – 427,628.

Larry Pozner, a lawyer for the university, called the accusations “wildly inaccurate.” In one instance where he was accused of staying at a posh hotel, he said he took a red-eye flight from Denver and passed time in a cheap diner before he was set to depose a witness.
