The online presentation of The Denver Post’s series of articles examining sexual assaults in the armed forces and the failings of military justice has been named a finalist in a national online-journalism competition.

The three-day series reported by Amy Herdy and Miles Moffeit, was named on Thursday as one of five finalists in the enterprise journalism category in the fifth annual Online Journalism Awards.

Winners will be announced next month in Los Angeles.

The series has led to ongoing discussion of reform at the top levels of government and the military.

The online component to the series includes many multimedia extras not found in the print version.

The presentation of “Betrayal in the Ranks” on DenverPost.com was overseen by executive producer Rebecca Risch with assistance from executive producer Gil Asakawa, online news editor Mark Harden and the DenverPost.com staff.

The Post series will vie with entries from , , and .
