Milwaukee – Gary Glover bounced back from the worst outing of his career today and the Milwaukee Brewers completed a three-game sweep of the Colorado Rockies with a 11-1 rout paced by Bill Hall’s four RBIs.

Coming off a 7-1 loss at Minnesota on Friday night in which he lasted just 1 1-3 innings, Glover (3-3) won for the first time since April 29 against the Reds.

He gave up one unearned run and three hits in six innings, striking out six and walking one.

But it still might not be enough to keep him from going to the bullpen. Ace Ben Sheets is preparing to return to the rotation after more than a month on the DL with a viral infection and Wes Obermueller has pitched so well in his place that Glover might just be the odd man out.

Colorado right-hander Jamey Wright (2-5), who pitched for the Brewers from 2000-02, should have felt right at home at Miller Park, where his 29 starts and 10 wins rank second behind Sheets.

But he was tagged for eight earned runs and eight hits in three-plus innings, including five runs and five extra-base hits in the first inning alone.

Brady Clark led off with a double and scored on Geoff Jenkins’ groundout. Carlos Lee followed with his 11th homer, and Lyle Overbay, Hall and J.J. Hardy all doubled before Chad Moeller’s RBI single capped the big inning, in which Wright threw 33 pitches.

Colorado scored a run in the fourth when Aaron Miles got plunked, took second on a wild pitch and came across when Overbay booted Brad Hawpe’s groundball at first. But Hawpe made the third out when he couldn’t avoid Matt Holliday’s line drive on his way to second base moments later.

Milwaukee scored three runs in its half, including RBI singles by Jeff Cirillo and Lee. Cirillo’s hit scored Clark, who was hit by a pitch, stole second and took third on catcher Todd Greene’s throwing error.

Hall made it 11-1 in the sixth with a three-run homer off Blaine Neal. That gave him four RBIs for the third time in his career.

Needing a triple for the cycle, Hall struck out in the eighth.

Milwaukee manager Ned Yost broke from his recent trend of not playing light-hitters Hardy and Moeller at the same time. Hardy began the day hitting .170 and Moeller .098, but Hardy has been swinging the bat better since a four-game benching last week.

Notes:

Lee’s two RBIs gave him 29 in May, breaking the club mark of 27 set by Richie Sexson in 2002. … Sheets said his bullpen session went well today. He hopes it’s his final tuneup before returning to the rotation this weekend. … The Rockies haven’t won any of their eight road series so far and have been swept in five of them. … Rockies RHP Chin-hui Tsao was scheduled for shoulder surgery today in Denver.
