Roger Ogden, general manager of KUSA-Channel 9, has been named president of the broadcasting division of the station’s corporate parent, Gannett Co.
Ogden, who has been general manager of NBC’s Denver affiliate since 1997, will replace Craig A. Dubow, who will become president and chief executive of Gannett in July.
The media conglomerate is the nation’s largest newspaper chain, in addition to its broadcast properties. It owns USA Today.
Dubow is taking over from Douglas H. McCorkindale, who will stay on as the company’s chairman.
As president and CEO of Gannett’s broadcasting division, Ogden will oversee 21 television stations.
Dubow has also been elected to the company’s board of directors, which will bring the board’s total to nine members.
Odgen is currently a senior vice president at Gannett Broadcasting.
Before becoming general manager at KUSA, he held the same position at KCNC-Channel 4 for several years and in the mid-1990s was president and managing director of NBC Europe.
Gannett shares closed down 6 cents at $75.31 today on the New York Stock Exchange before the news was released.
