“Memorial Day…celebrates and solemnly reaffirms from year to year a national act of enthusiasm and faith. It embodies in the most impressive form our belief that to act with enthusiasm and faith is the condition of acting greatly”
— Oliver Wendell Holmes
From an address delivered for Memorial Day, May 30, 1884
It’s Memorial Day Weekend!
I couldn’t possibly cram just three things for you to do this weekend into today’s Buzzworthy, since your weekend is longer and more active than ever.
I’ve chosen highlights, and provided you with some great online resources for your weekend as well.
Sure, summer surely stars on the June 21st solstice, but summer really starts this weekend. Get out and do something.
Much summer lovin’ from Buzzworthy.
We’ve been waiting for a year. Friday
The 2005 Rocky Mountain Air Guitar Championship is loud, obnoxious, and widely anticipated.
If you missed this event last year, you missed a spectacle of big hair, bad clothing, and some serious rockin’.
String up yer…um, hands? and get out there and jam.
No real instruments or singing allowed. Just you, the air, and the rock.
And if you think by any means that someone’s playing a joke, know that this is only the region comps. The winner will travel to the finals in Los Angeles in mid-July.
