The Denver Newspaper Agency has been recognized by the Newspaper Association of America Foundation for its efforts to encourage the use of newspapers in classrooms through Newspaper in Education.

The DNA tied for first place for general excellence with The Seattle Times for newspapers with more than 250,000 daily circulation.

The agency also won first place for new media and second place for its literacy program.

The agency was among 18 newspapers and two state press associations that won program excellence awards for Newspaper in Education during the NAA Foundation’s annual conference, which was held in Charleston, S.C.
