Colorado stocks rose for a third week, led by Storage Technology Inc., which gained 16 percent Thursday after agreeing to be acquired by Sun Microsystems Inc.
The Bloomberg Colorado Index, a price-weighted list of companies based in the state, rose 5.06, or 1.8 percent, to 279.45 over four days of trading last week.
The markets were closed Monday for the Memorial Day holiday.
