Denver – Strong storms are tracking east through the Front Range and metro area producing thunder, lightning and hail along the way.

9NEWS meteorologist Nick O’Kelly expects the storms to be strong, but most of them will not be severe. The rain could mix with snow at elevations as low as 9,000 feet.

Temperatures will be 10 to 20 degrees cooler than average today.

Denver will reach a high of 62 today with an overnight low of 47. Fort Collins will hit a high of 61, Limon 63, Colorado Springs 61 and Grand Junction 71.

Saturday will bring a high of 71 with more afternoon thunderstorms. Sunday will bring more of the same.

Next week will bring a warm up with drier conditions.
