Just what we need.
Another coffee shop.
Nestled in the nooks somewhere between Curtis Park and the Ballpark Neighborhood, there’s a little shop with a big presence.
The Urban Roadhouse offers a full menu, the kind where the green chile is spicy, the pizza’s homemade and the pastries are fresh. Free wireless internet, a television room and general comfy surroundings usually help to make that stuff taste better, too.
While pooches aren’t allowed inside, local artists and essentially everyone else are, so if you’re looking for a new place to crash come sunrise, make your way there.
Plus, if you send them a postcard while you’re out of town, you get free coffee.
What: The Urban Roadhouse
Where: 2700 Arapahoe

DUG. Ya dig?
Hey! Been trying…to eat you.
Denver Urban Gardens, the community gardening organization with a clever acronym, offers more than just local gardening plots and community awareness.
They offer produce!
Seasonal vegetables, herbs, flowers and honey, all raised on DUG’s Delaney farm, are all available for the taking.
While you’re at it, you can always check their website for volunteer opportunities if you just don’t know what to do with that green thumb of yours.
What: DUG Farmer’s Market
Where: DeLaney Community Farm, 170 South Chambers Road, Aurora

We should talk about your timing.
Specifically with your rhyming.
Or just your regular prose.
We’ve talked about this before; you need to stop being such a chicken and get out and read it somewhere.
It’s good, it really is; you know you want to do it.
You’ve been waiting and waiting, and you keep saying the next time something comes along, you’ll sign up.
Well, someday is everyday, because there’s open mic readings across the city, seven days a week.
Stop being a wuss, put down the eyeliner, and grab your journal.
What: Open mic goodness
