Police have arrested six people in connection with a Longmont-based methamphetamine operation in which victims allegedly were tortured with cattle prods and shot at.
The suspects were part of an organized group of criminals nicknamed “The Brotherhood.”
The group, police say, held several people against their will and tortured them to collect drug debts.
Others were tortured because they were thought to be police informants.
Most of the crimes happened at a home in the 1700 block of Centennial Drive in Longmont.
Mario Primaveri, 55, who police say was the ringleader, was taken into custody at his home Thursday in Lafayette and charged with conspiracy, kidnapping, menacing, robbery, criminal extortion and assault. He is being held at the Boulder County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bond.
William Norem, 38, a transient, and Dustin Anglesey, 31, of Parker, were arrested Friday morning on charges including conspiracy, kidnapping and robbery. Anglesey is being held at the Arapahoe County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bond and Norem at Boulder County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bond.
Three other suspects, Elizabeth McKee, 24; Kevin Forest, 29, of Erie; and Nicholas Delgado, 19, of Longmont also were arrested on related charges. Forest and Delgado were taken to the Boulder County Jail. McKee was being held at the Weld County Jail on unrelated drug charges.
The arrests came at the end of an eight-month investigation by the Longmont Police Department with help from the Boulder County Drug Task Force, the Colorado State Patrol and Erie, Lafayette, Aurora and Parker police departments.
“It will make this community much safer having these people in custody,” Longmont police Sgt. Tim Lewis said Friday.
