A man threatening to blow himself up by igniting propane tanks in a construction business turned himself in after a five-hour standoff with Englewood police Saturday.
The man, whose identity was not released, barricaded himself in a concrete construction business at 2901 S. Santa Fe Drive on Saturday morning, said Englewood police spokesman Jim Ulrich.
Police received a call at 6:30 a.m. Saturday and the man walked out of the building shortly before noon, Ulrich said.
Authorities closed down busy South Santa Fe Drive, fearing the tanks would cause considerable damage if they exploded, he said.
