Out and about: One of my sisters lives in Chiang Mai, so another sister and I went over to visit! We spent 5 days in Chiang Mai, and went to an elephant park and rode elephants through the jungle, watched an elephant show, took an ox cart ride, and a bamboo raft river ride! The Night Bazaar downtown provides night time shopping experiences you will never forget! The bargains are unreal. We then went to Hua Hin on the gulf of Thailand for 5 days of incredible beach time! With 95-100 degree days and tons of sunshine, it was incredible.
Travel tip: Thailand is a fabulous vacation spot! Once you get there, it is incredibly cheap and Thai people are amazingly friendly! The beaches beat out Mexico in my opinion, and the trip is well worth it! The tsunami may have done some damage in some areas, but there are many wonderful places to go that were unaffected, especially northern Thailand and along the Gulf of Thailand. The food is great, and meals can cost less that $1.
