Who: Helen Peters of Annapolis, Maryland and Pat Kimmel of Arvada, Colorado sisters
Where: Maho Bay, St. Maarten
Out and about: The 36 square mile volcanic island nestled in the Greater Antilles is populated by both the French and Dutch. Sapphire and emerald toned seas are visible from every point of land. Casinos, fishing and sailing are available along with markets featuring local clothing. The French capital, Marigot, offers fine jewelry, art and gastronomic delights. We suggest a restaurant called “La Source”. English is spoken and the locals are friendly and helpful.
Travel tip: Secure accommodations on the less expensive Dutch side. Consider an all-inclusive package. Rent a car to sightsee or use the local bus ($1.00).
