Who: Lisa and Lila Garcia; Heidi, Zoe, Jay and Eva Hafner; Mark and Marcus Garcia all from Lakewood, Colorado – Shamu in the background
Where: SeaWorld in San Diego, California
Out and about: SeaWorld is San Diego’s No. 1 tourist attraction and one of the most popular marine parks in the world. It occupies 189 acres on beautiful Mission Bay Park and is known for spectacular animal shows, interactive attractions, aquariums, rides and dining facilities.
Travel tip: “Breakfast with Shamu” hosted by SeaWorld’s educators is a one-hour experience to enjoy a breakfast buffet by Shamu’s private pool. The up-close photo opportunities and mini performances were memorable and worth the price. Skip the picnic lunch during “The Shamu Adventure” because it’s hard to eat on a bench (especially with kids) and watch a wonderful performance by the killer whales.
