Cañon City – A grand jury has indicted a Denton County, Texas, constable who faces charges he solicited sex with an 8-year-old girl.
Precinct 2 Constable Larry Dale Floyd, 61, was arrested July 28 in Cañon City after police say he made plans via e-mail to meet a child, but had unwittingly contacted an undercover officer.
Floyd was indicted Thursday on three counts of possessing child pornography. He remains in Fremont County Jail on $400,000 cash-only bail, Cañon City Detective Doug Havens said.
Meanwhile, the district attorney in Denton County has filed a petition to have Floyd suspended without pay pending his trial.
