Vegas gambles on Britney

Britney Spears and her reps have met with a Las Vegas booker to discuss her performing at a casino.

Promoter Jack Wishna told E! Online. “I met with Britney, her manager and her lawyers, and we are working on a deal to bring her to the Strip for ‘X’-number of weeks in 2007-2008.”

Spears, 23, is expecting her first baby with husband Kevin Federline in October. She told Elle magazine she expects to have a C-section. “My mom said giving birth was the most excruciating thing that she’s ever gone through in her life. So if a Caesarean doesn’t happen, I’ll be like, ‘Epidural, please!’ Hopefully my athletic abilities will take over.”

Sawyer snags a chat with miffed Clooney

Diane Sawyer got another hot interview when a miffed George Clooney dropped planned appearances on NBC.

“Dateline NBC” and “The Today Show” ditched the actor in favor of “Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria. The peacock network renewed offers to Clooney, who instead decided to plug his upcoming film, “Good Night, and Good Luck,” to Sawyer on ABC’s Primetime Live” and “Good Morning America.”

Watch your back, Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Zeta-Jones reportedly won the role to play Lana Turner in a movie about the screen goddess and her mobster boyfriend Johnny Stompanato, who was killed by her teenage daughter Cheryl Crane. But Sharon Stone claims Turner wanted Stone to play her, MSNBC.com reports. Stone was quoted as saying she met Turner shortly before her death from throat cancer in 1995. “I met Lana in her final years and liked her a great deal,” Stone said. “She said if there was a film to be made on her life, then I was her choice.”

Like the song says, “Memories … scattered pictures …”

That’s all that was left at the Beverly Hills mansion Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt once shared. The Daily Mirror reports a life-sized enlargement from their wedding day was left on the floor of their home, a real-estate agent told the newspaper. The 5-foot-high print shows Aniston and Pitt drinking cocktails and giggling.

Meanwhile, Aniston has agreed to give her “exclusive” TV interview to ABC’s Diane Sawyer, according to the New York Post’s Cindy Adams.

Sawyer’s “Good Morning America” will tout the big coup in the coming weeks, Adams wrote.

Add Snoop Dogg to the rappers who are suing a Philadelphia auto dealer.

Snoop filed suit Tuesday in federal court against Gary Barbera, claiming the car dealer is using the rapper’s “trademark and personal name, likeness, persona and speech pattern” in advertisements.

Snoop is seeking $2 million. Fellow rapper 50 Cent filed a similar suit Aug. 19 against Barbera, who used the slogan “Just Like 50 Says!” over the backdrop of a Dodge Magnum and a photo of 50 Cent, without the artist’s consent.

While Michelle Pfeiffer and her driver were loading bags into her Range Rover, a stranger distracted the couple and his accomplice drove off with the $86,000 car Tuesday.

The theft occurred near Camden Market in London, the Daily Mirror reported. Pfeiffer is in north London filming the comedy “I Could Never Be Your Woman.”
