When you have a husband and a 10-year-old son who love to fish, a mother such as Julie Lederfine often finds herself in the darndest places – like the South Platte River near Deckers. Which is why we find the Highlands Ranch resident casting a Blue Fox lure into a river she had never fished. No one was more surprised than she when a brown trout grabbed the lure and headed downstream. Lederfine estimated the fish at 20 inches before releasing it. “It was cool,” she said.
