KUSA-Ch. 9 is the station of love.
Weather watcher Kathy Sabine got married to her homebuilder boyfriend this past weekend in Beaver Creek. He proposed in the mountains in May, I reported here. Sabine said then that no date was set for the nups.
I hear they’re off on a honeymoon, so don’t depend on Sabine for a forecast this week. For her, let’s hope it’s nothing but sunny skies.
And Cheryl Preheim, KUSA-Ch. 9 weekend morning anchor, also got married recently in Beaver Creek.
Neither Sabine nor Preheim returned calls.
Take me out
Sunday’s closing day at Coors Field brought out Gov. Bill Owens and Mayor John Hickenlooper with his son, Teddy Hickenlooper, to the seats behind home plate. The pols were both at opening day, so this provided a degree of closure. The Rockies lost – but it was a fine game on a beautiful Colorado day.
Hickenlooper told me he always goes to opening and closing day – and he tries to hit 10 games in the regular season to make at an even dozen. Alas, this year he only made two extra games. I’ll say it to Hizzoner and the Rockies. There’s always next year.
ARF!
Here’s a party with a sense of humor. The Dames and Dogs Fashion Show and Luncheon Wednesday at Glenmoor Country Club pokes fun at the overactive Denver debutante scene. At the doggie fashion show, the female pups will be “Deb Dogs.” The boy dogs will be “Dogs of Distinction,” a take on the annual “Young Men of Distinction,” the signature event of the Denver Ballet Guild that finds a way to honor boy debutantes.

Forbes.com praises Denver’s Hotel Teatro in the same issue it lists the 400 Richest Americans. Maybe they’ll all read it and check in.
The magazine slobbers over the high-end hotel, saying “it combines timeless elements – old-world elegance, modern convenience, Eastern feng shui, Western grandiosity.”
The mag loves the pillow menu.
Although many dogs have stayed at the hotel and received the royal treatment, only one cat has stayed in the big suite: Sammy Davis Jr., owned by Snoop Dogg.
