Spike Lee announced he is making a film for HBO about the post-Hurricane Katrina flooding in New Orleans, acknowledging conspiracy theories of intentional government involvement in the flooding.
Lee told CNN, “It’s not too far-fetched. … I don’t put anything past the United States government. I don’t find it too far-fetched that they tried to displace all the black people out of New Orleans.”
Brig. Gen. Robert Crear, who commands the Army Corps of Engineers, told CNN there was no truth to the rumors circulating among evacuees from the devastated Ninth Ward section of New Orleans.
Katie Holmes’ father is “very upset” his unmarried daughter is pregnant with Tom Cruise’s child, Life & Style Weekly magazine reported. A devout Catholic, Martin Holmes, also is not a big fan of Cruise’s controversial religion, Scientology.
A close friend of Cruise told the magazine, “Tom had promised her parents that they would do the right thing and get married before any baby came along.” Martin Holmes scolded his daughter and then berated Cruise, declaring, “You’re no good,” the magazine reports in its next issue.

Fashion guru Steven Cojocaru received a second kidney transplant – this one donated by his mother – after the first one in January had to be removed due to infection. Cojocaru had the transplant Tuesday and was resting comfortably, a statement said.

Daniel Craig may be the next 007, according to various British reports.
The widow of Albert R. “Cubby” Broccoli, producer of more than a dozen of the James Bond films, wants the 37-year-old blond-haired Brit to replace Pierce Brosnan, the Daily Mirror reported.
But Martin Campbell, director of the next 007 movie, “Casino Royale,” still wants little-known Henry Cavill, 22. Co-producers of the 007 series, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, are expected to make an announcement this week. Shooting is slated to begin in January.
