President Bush will host a Colorado fundraiser for Republican U.S. Rep. Marilyn Musgrave at the end of the month, according to her campaign website.
Guy Short, Musgrave’s chief of staff, referred all questions about the event to the White House.
He would not elaborate on the announcement posted to the congresswoman’s political website, musgraveforcongress.org.
The announcement did not specify a date for the appearance.
A spokesman for the White House said late Monday that Bush’s schedule had not yet been announced and details were not available.
Musgrave has been tagged by the GOP as one of the 10 most vulnerable House members in the country.
Earlier this year, Vice President Dick Cheney made a swing through Denver to help raise more than $200,000 for Musgrave. A seat at the luncheon cost between $500 and $4,000.
Musgrave, of Fort Morgan, represents the 4th Congressional District, which includes Fort Collins and the Eastern Plains.
She has raised $1.2 million since the last election – more than any other Colorado candidate.
Democratic state Rep. Angie Paccione of Fort Collins announced in September that she planned to challenge Musgrave and has raised almost $38,000.
Musgrave drew national attention last year when she proposed an amendment to the U.S. Constitution to ban same-sex marriages.
Critics chastised her for not paying attention to the concerns of her constituents.
Musgrave beat Democrat Stan Matsunaka by 6 percentage points in November 2004.
