Wyoming wide receiver Jovon Bouknight is one of 15 semifinalists for the Biletnikoff Award, given to the nation’s top wide receiver. Bouknight is nationally ranked in six categories, including ninth in receiving yards with 973. Wyoming’s Marcus Harris won the award in 1996.

CU women’s hoops signs two from California

University of Colorado women’s basketball coach Kathy McConnell-Miller signed Courtney Dunn, a 6-foot-4 center from Berkeley, Calif., and Brittany Spears, a 6-1 forward from Pasadena, Calif.

Outlaws hire local prep lacrosse coaches

The Denver Outlaws lacrosse team named East High School coach Jon Barocas director of college scouting and named Cherry Creek coach Bryan Perry and Kent Denver coach Tom Graesser assistants to head coach Jarred Testa. George McGeeney was introduced as defensive coordinator and Bill Edell as offensive coordinator. The Outlaws will debut May 20 along with three other Major League Lacrosse expansion teams: the Los Angeles Riptide, Chicago Machine and San Francisco Dragons.

Hyatt headlines first day of skating sectionals

Megan Hyatt of Lindenhurst, Ill., won the junior ladies short program in the first day of the Midwestern Sectional Championships at South Suburban Ice Arena in Centennial. Hyatt’s 47.16 point total edged 13-year-old Rachael Flatt of Del Mar, Calif., who trains in Colorado Springs with the Broadmoor Skating Club. In the novice men’s short program, Broadmoor’s Brandon Mroz won with a score of 38.61. And in the novice pairs program, Madison Hubbell and Keiffer Hubbell of Sylvania, Ohio, won with a two-dance total of 35.87.
