A Seventh Avenue home built for a prominent Denver businessman and his family is on the market for $1.67 million.
The five-bedroom, 3 1/2-bath Arts and Crafts-style mansion at 1515 E. Seventh Ave. was built in 1911 for Peter C. Schaefer Sr., founder and president of the Schaefer Tent & Awning Co. The business, established in 1905, was based at 14th and Larimer streets downtown.
Sellers Mike Metros and Scott Spicher are downsizing from the 6,154-square-foot brick home to a penthouse unit in the Belvedere condo tower. But not without some regret.
“I put my heart and soul into this home,” Metros said. His ideal buyers would have “an appreciation for the integrity of the home and want to maintain it,” he said.
The home is listed by Jane Wallace and Jim Rhye of Kentwood City Properties.
