The National Western Stock Show, Rodeo & Horse Show has had 100 years to get its act together, so it’s no surprise that its centennial celebration is moving into the two-week run like a team of well-trained Belgian draft horses (which you will see if you visit the show through Jan. 22.). No aspect of life on the ranch goes unappreciated at the stock show, from the tiniest goat to the great big tractors, so there’s something for every size appetite.

Getting around: The National Western Complex is on Interstate 70, east of Interstate 25 in Denver. Stock-show parking lots range from $5-$10, depending on proximity; private lots are out there too. On the weekend, expect to walk a fer piece from outlying parking lots, or save yourself the sole damage by heading to the shuttle lot, about a mile east of I-25 on 58th Avenue, and get a ride back to the complex. Entrance to the show grounds runs $7 for adults during the week and $9 on weekends; kids under 12 get in for $2 weekdays and $3 on the weekends. Tickets to events like the pro rodeo and Wild West Show include complex admission for the day of the show. For a complete schedule, visit nationalwestern.com.
