HOT TIX

Bill Cosby may not be as edgy or as blue as many of today’s popular comedians, but his clean humor has served him and audiences well for decades. His wry and laugh-out-loud comments on everyday life still pack people into theaters. In fact, that popularity has led to the addition of a 5 p.m. performance at the Buell Theatre on March 11. Limited seating is still available for the previously announced 8 p.m. show. Tickets are on sale ($46-$73.50, 303-893-4100 or denvercenter.org).

Jean-Yves Thibaudet is among the pianists who will perform with the New York Philharmonic this summer at the Vail Valley Music Festival, along with Jonathan Biss and Yuja Wang. Guest violinists will be Leila Josefowicz and Jennifer Koh, while Bramwell Tovey, Marin Alsop and Philharmonic associate conductor Xian Zhang will conduct. The six concerts are scheduled July 21-28 in Vail. Tickets are on sale ($21-$82, 877-812-5700 or vailmusicfestival.org).

Bill Maher makes his money on the foibles of politicians and other policymakers. And today’s world ensures Maher makes a very nice living. He is one of today’s edgiest and most insightful political humorists. If you doubt that, watch an hour of his HBO show, “Real Time With Bill Maher.” The comedian plays the Paramount Theatre on April 22. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday ($35- $45, Ticketmaster).

Donald Fagen, co- founder of Steely Dan, kicks off his first solo tour March 1. The tour starts six days before the release of “Morph the Cat,” his third solo album. Donald Fagen Band ’06 stops at the Paramount Theatre on March 21. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday ($49.50-$74.50, Ticketmaster).
