RAILBENDERS PARTIES

Jesse Dayton, Buckwild and Angie Stevens kick-start the music at Herman’s Hideaway, 1578 S. Broadway, tonight before popular country-rockers The Railbenders play a show to launch “Showdown,” their latest album. 8 p.m. Tickets: $8 via Ticketmaster. The Railbenders also play at 4 p.m. Saturday at Twist & Shout Underground, 333 E. Alameda Ave.

MOTOSAPIEN

This “surf-blues-punk-rock” band recently wrapped up its debut album. Saturday it plays the Lion’s Lair, 2022 E. Colfax Ave., with The Haggardies and Recycled Heroes. 10 p.m. $5.

MELISSA IVEY BAND

Instead of a hosting a traditional CD-release party, this singer-songwriter decided to introduce each of her new songs with various stylized gimmicks during each of her shows. Comedians, painters and belly dancers could be part of the mix. See how it comes together Saturday when Ivey opens the Bluebird Theater, 3317 E. Colfax Ave., for Split Lip Rayfield.
