Lawrence, Kan. – Whitney Law had 21 points to lead five Colorado players in double figures Wednesday night as the Buffaloes beat Kansas 77-71.
It was the second time this season that Colorado (7-14, 2-7 Big 12) has beaten Kansas, giving the Buffaloes their only two Big 12 wins. It also was Colorado’s first road win in 13 tries, dating to last season.
After leading by as many as 14 points with less than 10 minutes left, Colorado let Kansas back into the game on a 10-0 Jayhawks run.
Kansas (13-6, 2-6) trimmed the lead to three with 2 minutes remaining, but a turnover after a defensive rebound led to an easy layup for Colorado. Another layup on their next possession put the Buffaloes back up by seven and the game out of reach for the Jayhawks.
Law, who hit her first six shots, finished 7-of-9 from the field and 2-of-2 from behind the 3-point line.
Kaylee Brown scored a career-high 24 points for Kansas.
