A 41-year-old Lakewood man has been arrested for severely beating and robbing a 75-year-old woman, police said.

The injured woman, who was not identified by police, works for a business that provides transportation to casinos in Central City and Black Hawk.

The woman was assaulted and robbed outside the transport company, 5960 West Alameda Ave., at about 1 p.m. on Thursday, said Lakewood police spokesman Steve Davis.

Detectives interviewed the victim at a hospital and were able to identify the suspect, Davis said.

Ira Vincent Miner was arrested at a home in the 1300 block of Garrison Street without incident, Davis said.

Miner is 5-feet 10-inches tall and weighs 225 pounds, according to police records. He was being held at the Jefferson County Jail on suspicion of robbery, first degree assault and crimes against an at-risk adult.
