Sacramento, Calif. – For those who cannot find an audience for public displays of affection, there’s a new way to take them to the ultimate public place: online.

At the Amore photo blog at Fotolog.com – a photo-sharing site – you can find a potentially limitless audience for digital images of you and your beloved, with plenty of company trying to do the same.

The Amore blog – fotolog.com/amore – has more than 30,000 images dedicated to romance, furthering its quest to create “the world’s largest archive of love.” Submissions are screened by moderators so that there’s nothing too racy by most standards. The site is basically a great big clinch display. There are the nose crushers, the cheek-to-cheekers, the nuzzlers, the face eaters, the blurry, the silhouetted and the quietly companionable.

There is a certain smooch fatigue that can set in after viewing several hundred of the images.

Many look about as unpolished as the images taken in coin-operated photo booths. A very few are downright artistic.

Those who post reflect a diverse, international group, although they appear to be uniformly young adults.

Fotolog, which claims more than 2 million members, was started in 2002 by Adam Seifer, who is based in New York. He received attention for a personal photo blog on his site dedicated to a different sensual activity: eating. He posts images of his meals at fotolog.net/cypher.

Other group blogs on Fotolog include one dedicated to tattoos – fotolog.net/tattooland – and another for images of discarded umbrellas at fotolog.net/sad-umbrellas.
