Colorado State University’s College of Business will honor Monica Pleiman, president and chief executive of Optimum Management Systems LLC, as the 2006 college honor alumna tonight at the annual distinguished-alumni awards dinner hosted by the alumni association. Gene Vaughan, broker and owner of Re/Max Alliance in Fort Collins, will receive the 2006 honor alumnus award from the College of Applied Human Sciences.

THE AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS: Named Steven Levey, chief executive and managing director of GHP Horwath PC, as the recipient of its personal financial planning division’s highest honor, the 2005 Distinguished Service Award.

DELTA PETROLEUM CORP.: Elected John Wallace to serve as president and chief operating officer. Wallace replaces Roger Parker as president. Parker will continue to serve as chairman and chief executive.

MEDICAL GROUP MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION: Announced that Barbara Faulhaber joined as vice president of communications and marketing.

CANADIAN MINING HALL OF FAME: Inducted Colorado School of Mines emeritus professor Richard Hutchinson.

PROGRESSIVE MAJORITY:Hired Sara Lu-Hanley as political director and Megan Van Ens as finance director.

MOSAIC: Hired Faith Betz to lead its fundraising efforts in the Front Range.

COUNCIL OF RESIDENTIAL SPECIALISTS: Designated Kate Kessinger, broker associate/partner with The Group Inc. Real Estate, a certified residential specialist.

YOUTHBIZ: Announced Angel Gutierrez is executive director.

ROTH + SHEPPARD ARCHITECTS: Welcomed Mary Helen Bussard and Adam Smith.

TDA ADVERTISING & DESIGN: Hired Ben James as senior art director on Chipotle, Crocs and Fox Racing Suspension accounts.
