Evidence keeps piling up after Denver police and agents with the Drug Enforcement Administration arrested five people last week and seized dozens of pounds of marijuana, 1 kilogram of cocaine and $7,000.

“It’s been very fruitful,” said Virginia Quiñones, Denver police spokeswoman.

The most recent bust was Tuesday when Denver police arrested Mannford Banks.

Banks, who police said was holding 40 pounds of marijuana, is being held at the Denver jail.

The arrests and drug seizures are the result of a collaboration between the Denver police Drug Interdiction Team and the DEA.

“We’ve noticed an increased amount of movement of drugs,” Quiñones said, but she would not elaborate.

Drug arrests over the past week have included Oscar Garcia, 36, who police say had 50 pounds of marijuana in a suitcase.

On Monday, officers said they found 80 pounds of marijuana, 1 kilogram of cocaine and $7,000. Police arrested Arturo Nevarez- Ruiz, 21, Araceli Rosa Cardoza, 28, and Jesus Carbajal 27.
