Calgary, Alberta – Brian Langtry scored five goals and dished an assist for six points to lead the Colorado Mammoth to a 17-7 victory over the Calgary Roughnecks at the Saddledome in the regular-season finale for both teams Saturday.
The 10-goal difference was the Mammoth’s biggest win of the season.
Colorado (10-6) finished in second place in the NLL’s West Division. The Mammoth will host third-place Calgary (9-7) in the division semifinals Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Pepsi Center.
Nick Carlson got the Mammoth on the scoreboard with a goal in the first period.
Mammoth defenseman John Gallant missed Saturday’s game, ending a franchise-record streak of 63 consecutive starts, due to a lacerated spleen suffered in the fourth quarter of Friday’s 11-8 victory over Calgary at the Pepsi Center.
Gallant was hit by a shot taken by Kaleb Toth, one of the hardest shooters in the National Lacrosse League.
Gallant checked into the emergency room of a local hospital after the game and was admitted at approximately 11 p.m. He is expected to be released today.
Gallant will be sidelined four to six weeks, according to Mammoth general manager Steve Govett.
“He needs rest. He’s in a fair bit of pain,” Govett said Saturday.
In Gallant’s place, Matt Leveque dressed down for the fourth time this season.
