An Aurora woman was seriously injured when an SUV crashed into her home overnight
The 55-year-old woman was sleeping in her bed when the SUV hit her home near 11th and Vaughn.
The Chevy Blazer had been stopped for a traffic violation near E. 6th Avenue and Del Mar Circle, shortly before midnight Sunday.
Just as the Aurora police officer approached the vehicle, the driver sped away.
The officer followed the SUV, and found it had plowed across a front yard and crashed into the woman’s home.
He found the injured woman inside. Police say her injuries are life-threatening, but no further information on her condition has been released.
The suspect had run away from the home before the Aurora officer arrived. Police established a perimeter in the neighborhood but were unable to locate the suspect.
