Where does the spirit live? In Boulder.

Where the Spirit Lives: Contemporary Houses of Worship

1-6 p.m., $15. Tickets available at the door. historicboulderinc.org

Boulder’s midcentury architecture reflects a community that endorsed optimism and innovation with a little pizzazz thrown in for good measure, even in religious buildings of the era. Get to know a bit about eight of the most architecturally innovative churches in town in docent-led tours of sanctuaries including University Lutheran Chapel, at Colorado Avenue and Folsom Street; Atonement Lutheran, at Baseline Road and Inca Parkway; and First United Methodist, at 1421 Spruce St. in downtown Boulder.
