The University of Denver hired Amy Jensen, a former assistant at California, as women’s tennis coach, the school announced Thursday.

Jensen, 28, coached at Cal – where she played as a student-athlete – for six seasons. The Golden Bears finished in the top 30 all six seasons.

Jensen was a top junior player in her native Australia.

Lyles’ late goal gives Adams State RMAC win

Sara Lyles scored a breakaway goal in the 83rd minute to lift Adams State to a 1-0 victory over New Mexico Highlands in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference opener for both teams at Murphy Field in Alamosa.

Lyles now has 10 career goals for the Grizzlies, two shy of the school record. She took a through-ball from freshman Ashley Grover, who recorded her first career assist. Senior goalkeeper Janine Chumley recorded the shutout.
