The 829-acre Red Apple Fire burning about five miles southwest of Rifle since Thursday is expected to be 100 percent contained by this evening.
The fire destroyed one home and three outbuildings Thursday. About 50 homes were evacuated Thursday night, but all evacuations have been lifted.
The estimated 100 firefighters on scene Sunday would be returning home or traveling to other fires in the West, according to a release. Local fire crews will continue patrolling the area and mopping up over the next several days, said David Boyd, a BLM spokesman.
Fire officials are developing a stabilization and rehabilitation plan for re-seeding the burned area.
Boyd said officials suspect the blaze was human-caused and continue to investigate.
