The Colorado Springs Sky Sox of the Pacific Coast League ended their season with a 6-3 victory over the Sacramento River Cats on Monday at Security Service Field in Colorado Springs.
The Sky Sox, the Rockies’ Triple-A affiliate, were led by second baseman Omar Quintanilla, who doubled and had three RBIs, and designated hitter Luis Gonzalez, who went 2-for-3 with a triple, a double and two runs scored.
Mike Esposito (6-13, 6.67 ERA) pitched eight innings, allowing three runs for Colorado Springs, which finished the season 66-77, 14 1/2 games behind the Northern Division champion Salt Lake Bees.
Sacramento finished 78-66, second in the Southern.
