Kelvin Haidle graduated this spring from Holyoke High School as valedictorian.

While in high school, Kelvin was involved in sports, lettering in football, basketball and track all four years. He received the Outstanding Male Senior Athlete award and was all-conference in football and basketball.

Kelvin also was involved in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA); Family, Career and Community Leaders of America; and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Kelvin organized a three-on- three basketball tournament as a fundraiser for FBLA.

Kelvin is active in his church youth group, where he has taught Sunday school and is the youth representative for the church.

Kelvin was named the 2006 Youth of the Year by the Holyoke Chamber of Commerce. He was awarded the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award. In 2005, he received the University of Colorado’s Outstanding Junior Award.

He graduated with a 3.95 grade-point average.

Kelvin is attending Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Mont., where he received academic and athletic scholarships. He will major in aeronautical science while playing football with the Battlin’ Bears.
