ADAMS COUNTY – A 1-year-old child was shot in the leg late Monday in Adams County, a dispatcher with the Sheriff’s Office said.
The child survived the gunshot wound and was being taken to a hospital, she said.
The shooting occurred shortly before 10 p.m. on West 152nd Avenue.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting were not available late Monday.

DENVER – Leafdrop begins; drop off fallen leaves
The city’s Leafdrop campaign has begun, encouraging residents to reuse fallen leaves in their yards and providing drop-off locations around the city to have them recycled.
Residents who drop off leaves for recycling can reclaim the leaves in the form of rich compost in the spring at the Denver Recycles’ annual Treecycle Mulch Giveaway and Leafdrop Compost Sale.
The Leafdrop program is only for Denver residents and no branches or other waste is allowed. Bagged leaves may be dropped off weekdays from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. now through Dec. 4 at Havana Nursery, 10450 Smith Road, just south of Interstate 70 at Havana Street or at the Denver Solid Waste Transfer Station, Quebec Street and Cherry Creek Drive South.
Leaves also may be dropped off on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Nov. 12. The Sunday locations are at Sloan’s Lake Park at West 17th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard, John F. GREENWOOD VILLAGE – Motorcyclist killed on I-25 identified
Police identified the 23-year-old man killed earlier this month when he was thrown from his motorcycle on northbound Interstate 25.
Police said Ryan McCarthy was killed early on the morning of Oct. 3 around the 5800 block on the interstate.
He was traveling above the speed limit and unable to stop for traffic that had stopped in front of him, police said. The motorcycle smashed into a car, throwing McCarthy over a truck.
