Thornton police are looking for a suspect in the kidnapping and attempted sexual assault of a woman who was taken from her home to Central City.
The suspect was hiding in the back seat of the victim’s car, parked outside her home near 130th and Magnolia Place, according to police.
When she got inside her car, around 2:45 on October 14th, he threatened her with a knife and ordered her to drive to a spot near Central City.
She was dragged from the car into the woods, and he attempted to sexually assault her.
She hit him with a rock, cutting him on the left side of the forehead. She got away, got back to her car, and drove back to Thornton, where she contacted police.
The victim said she believed the suspect had been stalking her since August.
The man is Hispanic, between 30 and 40 years old, standing about 5’9″, with a one- to two-inch scar on the left side of his neck.
He speaks Spanish, and has a skeleton tattoo on his upper right arm. The skeleton’s arms are raised.
Police believe the suspect may have a canary yellow Chevy or GMC pick-up truck with an extended cab and tinted windows.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Catherine Manasil at 720-977-5083.
