The University Colorado will host the first- and second-round games in the NCAA women’s soccer tournament Friday and Sunday in Boulder.
Colorado, which lost to Texas on Sunday in the Big 12 Tournament championship, received an at-large bid Monday as the NCAA announced the 64-team bracket.
The Buffs will face Colorado College on Friday. The Tigers received their at-large bid after finishing second to UAB in the Conference USA Tournament.
Also on Friday in Boulder, the Sun Belt Conference champion Denver Pioneers will play Kentucky. The winners will meet Sunday for a spot in the Sweet 16.
RMAC volleyball teams head for Texas
Five Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference women’s volleyball teams qualified for the 64-team NCAA Division II Tournament and begin play in the Southwest Region on Thursday in Canyon, Texas. Metro State, which defeated Mesa State on Sunday to win the RMAC Tournament, will face Fort Lewis. Mesa State plays Nebraska-Kearney, and Western New Mexico plays Montana State-Billings.
CC women play in D-III volleyball tourney
For the ninth consecutive year, the Colorado College women’s volleyball team will play in the NCAA Division III Tournament. The Tigers will face second-seeded Linfield College at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in La Verne, Calif.
