MONTROSE – The burned body of a unidentified man was found near a landfill in Montrose County on Thursday, police said.
The body was discovered in a ravine on a remote piece of private property.
Undersheriff Richard Deines, public information officer for the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office, said investigators are treating the incident as a homicide.
“There were suspicious circumstances surrounding the scene,” Deines said.
Police don’t know the identity or age of the man. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the investigation.
