The biggest name to make it to the fest this year wasn’t even an official guest. Will Ferrell was solidly down to be at Wednesday night’s 6 o’clock screening of “Nail Polish.” Seems his wife, Viveca Paulin, is the producer of the flick.
Director Jane Ainbinder and star Alexandra Lydon were also skedded to be in the house – but at presstime festers were all hyped for Ferrell.
BTW: Jeremy Davies (“Saving Private Ryan,” “Dogville”) is coming to town to add a little star power to Saturday night’s closing night screening of his movie “Rescue Dawn.”
Mister Jones
NY Daily News ran into Denver’s former male prostitute Mike Jones at Monday’s Broadway opening of Douglas Carter Beane’s play “The Little Dog Laughed.” It’s the story of a hustler and his “john” – and Jones told the News, “I saw my life up there.”
But Jones was surprised that the hustler in the play charged $200 a night, the same rate Jones charged. “Actually, $200 is a little cheap for New York,” the playwright told the News. “I mean, Colorado, hello!”

Call it Carmelo’s Crib.
Nugget star Carmelo Anthony has just purchased a 1,595-square-foot pad in Las Vegas. It’s just east of the strip, the two-bedroom corner unit on the 23rd floor of the W Las Vegas Hotel, Casino & Residences.
Cost? Developers aren’t saying. But they do point out that Anthony did not go for the team’s baby blue but opted instead for “Jasper” – a very very red. See pic at denverpost bloghouse.com/husted.

I like the new Milwaukee St. Tavern at Milwaukee and Second. The thing about it, though, is that it’s really really loud.

The old Legends in Cherry Creek opened last week as Milwaukee St. Tavern. A bunch of Denver restaurant guys, including Craig “Spanky” Caldwell and Corky Douglass have created this sports-oriented neighborhood grill – and installed two downsized bowling alleys in it. $4-a-game.
