Colorado Springs – The man suspected of killing Colorado Springs Police officer Ken Jordan was advised of his rights today in El Paso County Court.

Marco Lee, 25, appeared before Judge Geoffrey DeWolfe with his left arm in a sling and his right arm bandaged . He faces at least a charge of first-degree murder. Lee did not speak during the five-minute court appearance.

Lee will not be speaking with investigators, as public defender Carrie Lynn Thompsontold the judge that only defense attorneys and medical personnel were allowed to speak to her client.

Thompson filed a motion asking the court to waive Lee’s appearance today and prohibit cameras from the courtroom. The motions were denied.

Lee was pulled over Monday night on suspicion of drunken driving. When officer Jordan, 32, the third officer to arrive in the 4400 block of E. Fountain Blvd., approached the car, Lee allegedly shot the officer four times.

Visitation for Jordan will be Sunday at Swan Law Funeral Directors in Colorado Springs. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at New Life Church.

At 2:30 p.m. Monday, southbound Interstate 25 at Interquest Parkway will be shut down for a funeral procession that will lead south on Interstate 25. The interstate is expected to be closed for one hour.

During the procession, entrances to southbound I-25 at Briargate Parkway, Academy Boulevard, Woodmen Road, Rusina Road, Garden of the Gods Road, Fillmore Street and Fontanero Street will be closed. The northbound exit at Uintah Street will also be closed.

Police recommend that southbound I-25 traffic exit at Northgate and take Highway 83 to Powers Boulevard to avoid delays.

Lee is due back in court Dec. 14.
